Cibor sponsors Jolien Van Loy & Team Krollie in their “Run To Walk Again” team challenge.

At the beginning of 2013, Jolien’s life was turned completely upside-down after being involved in a dramatic car accident. The diagnosis was devastating: At the young age of 24 years old, Jolien would have to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair, paralysed from the chest down and without the use of her fingers.

A few weeks ago, To Walk Again, the organisation of Marc Herremans, provided Jolien with the opportunity to use the step robot. A wonderful opportunity. Not many robots are yet available. Belgium has one, but in many countries they are not yet available. They also have a matching price tag: around 120,000 euro for a robot. She is happy to be able to participate with Marc’s team. In order to thank them, Jolien would like to do something in return and she has enrolled for the Run To Walk Again, at the beginning of October. This is a race that she undertakes consisting of two handbike half-marathons, and her team runs 7 additional marathons, and all of this within 35 hours. These sporting activities will thus take place day and night. The money that is collected can, for example, go towards a new robot in order to boost knowledge and technology, and this is what matters to us. We also hope that, just like Jolien, many other people will be able to enjoy the same experience with the step robot.
